Reactive torque sensor

How reactive torque sensors work

Reactive torque sensors are essential components in many industrial applications that require precise torque measurements. These sensors work on the principle of reactive force measurement.

When a rotational force is applied to a shaft or axle, this creates a deformation in a special measuring body within the sensor. This deformation is recorded by strain gauges that are applied to the measuring body. The strain gauges convert the mechanical deformation into electrical signals. These signals are then amplified and analysed to determine the exact torque.

A major advantage of reactive torque sensors is their high accuracy and reliability. They are able to measure both static and dynamic torques, which makes them very versatile. They are also robust and can be used in demanding environments.

Performance features of our torque sensors

Our torque sensors offer a nominal torque of 10 to 5000 Nm and are ideal for applications such as reaction torque detection or torsion measurement. They are characterised by a flange-to-flange solution and have a very compact axial length. Thanks to their high torsional rigidity, they are particularly robust and reliable. The sensors are also easy to handle and install. Special versions are also available on request to meet specific requirements.

Areas of application

Our torque sensors are used in measurement and control technology as well as in fully automated production centres. They are also used in measuring and control equipment, in toolmaking and in special machine construction.
