AI-supported sorting system for textile recycling

Published at February 5, 2025 at 9:27 AM

We at VELOMAT are proud to be involved in the ‘SprayCloth - Sorting System’ project.

By precisely recognising and separating textiles according to their material composition, the ‘SprayCloth’ innovation network aims to achieve a sustainable circular economy with a new sorting system. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is funding the joint project at Kempten University of Applied Sciences for three years.

Together with partners from research and industry, we are developing an innovative system for the automatic separation of textiles according to material composition. Our aim is to enable a sustainable circular economy.
By using AI technology and precise shape analysis, we can significantly increase sorting accuracy. In this way, we help to efficiently recycle valuable raw materials and reduce waste.

We are delighted to be involved in this pioneering solution and to be making a contribution to greater sustainability in the textile industry.
